Lenten Rose or Christmas Rose
Helleborus is one of the first flowers to bloom in the spring. It is very hardy and will withstand a snowstorm. From Alicia's garden.
Daffodil
Narcissus is one of the few bulbs that are poisonous. So, critters don't eat them.
As a result, once you plant daffodils, you can enjoy them for many years. From Alicia's garden.
Glory of the Snow
Chionodoxa can be invasive. I planted the small bulbs in one place
but they are popping up in my lawn and in the woods behind my house!
Birds can spread the seeds. So if you love this early spring bloomer, beware!

Red Trillium
Trillium erectum L. is a beautiful woodland wildflower that blooms in spring.
It is found in rich, moist woods with acid soil.
Trillium can be difficult to cultivate in a home garden.
However, Rosemary has been successful with them in her garden.
